Sault Tribe Board Decisions Rejected By Members!
Separation Of Power
The Sault Tribe Chairmen’s and some of the Board of Directors have always had a problem with separating the powers that they have given themselves as elected officials.
The Tribal Members did not want the top elected official holding both positions as Chairman and CEO of Kewadin Casinos.Chairman McCoy and some of the Board of Directors devised a plan to divide the CEO position amongst them and empowering themselves even more, (The Kewadin Casino’s 13 CEO’s) instead of hiring an unbiased experience CEO that everyone can trust.
Sault Tribe members are seeing through Chairman McCoy and some of the Director’s greed by reversing their decisions when it is not in the best interest of the Sault Tribe of Chippewa Indians as a whole.Lies For Votes
Sault Tribe Chairman Joe McCoy (under Dictator Bernard Bouschor’s tutelage) is still blaming the Tribal membership for wasting thousands of dollars on referendums that overturned Chairman Joe McCoy and the Sault Tribe Board of Director’s decisions!Chairman Joe McCoy tells you in the Tribal Board controlled News Paper (Win Awenen Nisitotung) that the referendums are costing money that could be used to fund programs in the Tribe.
Most of the Sault Tribe programs are funded with Tribal and Federal grant money. That was how former Sault Tribe Chief of Police/Unit 3 Director Fred Paquin was caught stealing money and sent to prison.McCoy, Bouschor and Pine's tactics are merely designed to get you to vote their way.
Referendums
The Sault Tribe Board knew very well the people were going to referendum their decisions but still gave millions of dollars away before the Tribal members had a chance to decide if that is what they wanted.
After 3 referendums rejected the Sault Tribe Board’s decisions, one would wonder if some of our elected officials truly have the Sault Tribe of Chippewa Indians best interest in mind or even care about honoring the Tribal members vote! This now leaves Chairman Joe McCoy and the Sault Tribe Board of Directors wondering how they are going to return the money back to the rightful owners, the Sault Tribe membership/shareholders.
Boucshor And The Greeks
Bouschor, Gatzaro and Papas along with past and present Tribal Board had no problem throwing millions and millions of dollars away on the Greektown Casino project, which the Tribal Membership ended up losing in the end!
Before the Greektown project Bouschor, Gatzaro and Papas had the Sunstar Resort Casino Riverboat project in Greenville, Mississippi. The Tribal Board and Membership did not know this project existed until paper work sank the boat before it hit the water. How much money was wasted on this stealthy project?
The Greektown Casino deal brought in major competition from Las Vegas, Nevada like MGM Casinos and Motor City Casino to the new Michigan gaming market. One has to wonder how much money was made behind the scenes on these deals. Also what will be the long term business damage to the Sault Tribe and other Tribal communities because of this deal?
Greed
Greed is an ugly monster that some of our elected officials use as their honor system. Our top monster is Director Bernard Bouschor! As former Chairman he squandered Billions of dollars of the Sault Tribe member’s money.Along with his nepotism, cronyism and favoritism, Bouschor has earned himself the top spot in our Wooden Nickel Award!
Chairman Joe McCoy sits on the Old Mission Bank Board where the Sault Tribe funnels money through, creating a conflict of interest. This was the very same thing Bernard Bouschor did since 1996 when he was the former Director of North Country Financial Corp. and a Director of the bank.
Bouschor also served as Chairman of Nominating Committee and Member of Compensation Committees of North Country Financial Corp.Director Bouschor was also the Tribal Chairman of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians at the same time.

This will become your children’s debt and problem, if these Tribal elected officials are allowed to continue down this path of destruction and not be held accountable for their actions!
