Romulus Resolution 2011-44
With the ink barely dry on the Romulus Referendum the Board approaches Romulus from a different angle. They knew when the Referendum went out that Campbell was out of it. They (The Board) wasted over $30,000 on a dead Referendum.
In a landslide vote in the Referendum, the Members of the Sault Tribe rejected the Boards crazy Romulus plan that would let Ted Gatzaros in the door again.
It wouldn’t take long to revise their plan. In a secret special meeting on 2-14-11 the Board brokered a deal with newcomer Mike Sawruk. This would become Resolution 2011-44 posted below. There are no restrictions to who Mr. Sawruk brings onboard.
Gatzaros and developer Mike Sawruk have formed Michigan Gaming LLC.
Michigan Gaming LLC could make it possible to allow Gatzaros back in the mix. The Tribal Membership spoke and they want no part of any risky deals involving him. This Board should be ashamed of themselves for sneaking behind the Members backs.
The Members only want their voices to be heard!
Robbing The Self Sufficiency Fund
At the same Meeting the Board passed a Resolution for the use of principal from the Self-Sufficiency Fund to purchase approximately 28.5 acres located in the Sault Ste. Marie area. The dilapidated property has sat vacant for years and suddenly Joe McCoy and Bernard Bouschor are interested in it. Sure makes one wonder the motive with no development plans.
They are so adamant on this purchase that they even crafted two resolutions. One to steal the money from the Self Sufficiency Fund the other to purchase the property. Both resolutions posted below.
