Burying The Tribe
During the process the Greeks were determined unqualified for a gaming license. Bouschor moved forward regardless. With them on the Tribes coat-tails. For a minimal investment the Greeks received over 300 million dollars and weren't even fit to be licensed. The people of the Tribe were fit to be doomed.
Bouschor layed a line of BS to the Membership from the Sault to Detroit. Following are several quotes by Bouschor in the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Greektown Casino is a "diamond mine" that will help Upper Peninsula Chippewa Indians gather wealth, improve services and spread influence nationwide, the tribe's leader says.
"The Greektown Casino will give us long-term stability," said Bernard Bouschor.
"The Kewadin Casino is our gold mine. Greektown will be our diamond mine," Bouschor said.
Bouschor said the next step is to expand the tribe's infrastructure and services.
"I see us adding services to two more counties. We plan to add to Emmett County and Cheboygan County. We will grow by big leaps, then we will go nationwide," he told The Evening News of Sault Ste. Marie.
Now comes the Greek back again. Just out of the sky Gatzaros becomes eligible for a gaming license. Couldn't before, but can now. That should immediately raise a flag in reference to the Michigan Gaming Commissions licensing procedures. The Michigan Gaming Commission has a long history of shady deals with Tribes. Where are the Feds when you need them? There are clearly some improprieties with the conduct of the Michigan Gaming Commission.
The future of Greektown looks real dim. There is talk of selling Greektown and one of the potential buyers is none other than Ted Gatzaros who will be paying for Greektown with the Tribes money. The Tribes money that Bernard Bouschor brokered a bad deal with.
What will Bouschors role in Greektown be? CEO maybe? Bouschor knew regardless of what happened he would come out in a win win situation for him. The probabilities of Bouschor getting a cut on the next deal are real good. He does nothing for free.

Greed
This deal was designed to benefit a very small group of people. Indicators show that the Sault Tribe Membership was never intended to be the beneficiary of this crooked deal. Now the Sault Tribe Members will carry the burden of a near ONE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS and Gatzaros will probably walk away with the Greektown Casino using the sweat off Tribal Members backs.
The Clowns
Payment and Lumsden were Bouschors clowns. While Bouschor was playing big shot in Detroit. Payment and Lumsden had their own plan for the Northern Michigan Casinos. Lumsdens wandering hands and Payments stupidity were their downfall. Payment won the 04 Election temporarily delaying the demise of the Tribe for 4 years.
The Straight Shooter
The 08 Election brings in a straight shooter by the name of Joe McCoy. The first elected Chairperson who wasn't in for it for the money. Chairperson Mccoy has spent his entire time thus far, reversing the wrongdoings of the past 3 decades of leadership. With sneaks like Bouschor, Payment and Paquin, McCoy has his hands full.
Will the Feds investigate just Paquin or the fleecing of over 30,000 Tribal Members over the past 3 decades? The information is there waiting for them. Maybe the new President will take accountability more serious than the last President.
Hot Off The Press
The latest below on one of Bouschors escapades from 2004. The Board has an opportunuty to right this wrong. Will they is the best question.

SAULT STE. MARIE — A 25-page ruling from the State of Michigan Court of Appeals appears to clear the way for a civil trial pitting former Chairman Bernard Bouschor and five co-defendants against the Sault Tribe of Chippewa Indians in a $2.6 million lawsuit that has simmered for more than four years.
